Job Description

We are seeking a Storage Systems Specialist, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable storage infrastructure and services.

This role focuses on the development, deployment, and maintenance of highly available, container orchestration systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain distributed storage systems including Ceph, ZFS, and NFS for use across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage, networking, and container orchestration systems.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure using tools like Prometheus.
  • Collaborate with development and SRE teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and infrastructure reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain distributed storage systems including Ceph, ZFS, and NFS for use across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Deep experience with Ceph, ZFS, and NFS storage technologies.
  • Proficient with Ceph (RADOS, RBD, CephFS) and ZFS administration.
  • Solid experience managing NFS servers and performance tuning.
  • Preferred knowledge of Kubernetes internals, networking, and cluster lifecycle management.
  • Experience with container runtimes (Docker, containerd), Helm, etc.
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture and migration strategies.
  • Knowledge of CSI storage drivers and volume provisioning in Kubernetes.
  • Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or RHCSA are a plus.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience using the Rook-Ceph operator for Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, ITAR, etc.) is beneficial.
