Career Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Compliance and Governance professional to join our AWS India - Maharashtra - D03 team. As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our Financial Services customers in India, helping them navigate the complex regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.



Key Responsibilities



  • Act as the primary Governance/Compliance interface for Financial Services institutions, providing guidance and support on regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with senior corporate/government officials, auditors, and other stakeholders, interpreting the impacts of policy changes and tracking industry trends.

  • Review and understand guidelines & regulations that impact financial services institutions using cloud service providers, including areas such as third-party outsourcing, operational resilience, data privacy, and cyber security.

  • Take the initiative to influence at a senior level across organizations, providing guidance to vendor management, security, technology, and risk controls teams.

  • Engage in cross-industry forums and groups, and motivate others to generate results while being sensitive to diverse perspectives of stakeholders across IT, security, risk, and controls teams in a financial company.

  • Engage with regulators directly or in a cross-industry forum.



A Day in the Life

As a Compliance Specialist, you will ensure readiness to adhere to regulatory requirements and various industry standards. You will research and prepare for customer meetings and calls, collaborate with account teams and other cross-functional teams to manage customer meeting(s) and customer cadence calls, support evolving regulations and industry standards, manage internal communications on new requirements, and drive compliance.

Requirements



  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services compliance, legal, or governance

  • 5+ years of personal, hands-on experience in developing compliance/regulatory documentation

  • Experience in working directly with senior corporate/government officials and/or auditors

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Indian FSI business Knowledge/understanding

  • Business level English language skills



Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with technical assessments and audit methodologies for technical systems (network, operating systems, application security) as well as IT auditing processes

  • Familiarity with cloud computing services/deployment architecture

  • Demonstration of innovative compliance approaches in non-traditional IT environments (cloud)

  • Experience and proficiency in public speaking

  • Understanding of the Regulations issued by RBI, IRDAI, and SEBI, together with relevant guidelines and how they relate to the use of cloud services

  • Experience in building successful compliance programs

  • Experience defining compliance roadmaps based on customer requirements, compliance documentation, and ensuring that committed assessments are delivered on schedule

  • Experience of onboarding compliance financial services workloads

  • Ability to think critically and be responsive to time-sensitive requests
