The primary role of this position is to create and manage system applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop, test, and maintain system applications using COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, SAS, JCL, PL/1.
- Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and project managers in an Agile environment to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain and enhance existing system applications to improve performance, security, and functionality.
- Ensure the highest quality of code and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends related to mainframe development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development.
- 3+ years of practical experience in COBOL programming.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and related tools.
- Solid experience with DB2 (database design, queries, and optimization).
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with JCL (Job Control Language).
- In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders and team members effectively.
- Experience working in a corporate banking or financial services environment is a plus.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools (e.g., Git, Jira).
- Knowledge of Linux Admin.
- Knowledge of ORACLE PLSQL.
- Knowledge of AzureDevOps, SAFe Agile.
- Knowledge of Google Pub/Sub.
