Lead a technical team to provide IT support for application environments and interfaces.

This includes diagnosis, resolution, root cause analysis of issues and identifying problem workarounds. Provide support for scheduled release upgrades and deployments. Ensure service requests are actioned according to service levels and performance targets.

Develop a culture of automation and develop CI & CD pipelines to ensure repeatability and resilience. Ensure platforms conform to necessary HA BC and DR requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational Support: Continuously improve infrastructure estate and processes for Development and Test environments.
  • Automation: Utilise management and deployment/configurations tools to reduce cycle times and improve reliability.
  • Process Improvement: Consistently apply and improve process, best practice and system build standards.
  • Team Enablement: Ensure the Development Team has the right environment to maximise efficacy and obstacles are removed.

Operational Management:

  • Production Management: Manage, support and control Production with appropriate governance and agility.
  • Environment Protection: Protect Production environments using governance, good practice/process, design and 'fit for purpose' principles.
  • Release Deployment: Package releases to the right quality, deployable between environments without modification.
  • Design Challenge: Contribute to software and application design, ensuring alignment to constraints.
  • Continuous Improvement: Address weaknesses in Process, Technology and Service through a culture of improvement.
  • Documentation: Ensure software and processes are correctly documented to prevent knowledge gaps.
  • Status Reporting: Provide updates on Deliverables/Artefacts as requested by the Line/Project/Change Lead.

People Leadership:

  • Resource Provisioning: Provide skilled resource to Project/Change Leads, managing skill gaps to reduce risk.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of Test Environment Engineers & Middleware specialists.
  • Skill Development: Develop technical skills required for test environment management function.
  • EDT Support: Provide support along with the Global team as part of test environment management team.

Governance & Risk:

  • SLA Performance: Ensure percentage and number of SLAs met (Environment Availability, Responsiveness to Requests etc).
  • Releases to Production: Percentage of Releases/Deployments to Production without issue.
  • Incident Levels: Post deployment Incident levels achieving set targets.
  • Server Patching: Server patch levels adhere to policy.
  • Process Documentation: Percentage of formal processes documented.
