Job Description

At the Indian Institute of Art and Design, we seek a visionary leader to spearhead our Career Services Division.

This pivotal role demands strategic oversight of campus placements, nurturing robust industry partnerships, and ensuring students and alumni access diverse, meaningful career opportunities with leading organizations.

The incumbent will play a crucial role in elevating student employability and fortifying IIAD's corporate engagement.

  • Serving as the centralized college representative to the employment community, conducting research on employer needs, and leveraging degree plans, course descriptions, and faculty insights to identify relevant job titles and industries.
  • Employer Development – Expanding the pool of corporate recruiters for campus placements, fostering effective relationships, and driving participation in career planning events through outreach initiatives.
  • Planning campus hiring events like job fairs to provide students with exposure to potential jobs and facilitate companies in finding suitable candidates.
  • Career Counseling – Providing students and alumni with assistance in defining career options, developing employment skills, and job-search procedures.
  • Employment Training Workshops – Developing, coordinating, and facilitating training and skill development workshops on resume and portfolio preparation, job-search strategies, mock interviews, and company information sharing.
  • Placement Data Collection/Dissemination – Preparing statistical and qualitative reports internally and externally for employers, academic departments, and other stakeholders as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 8-10 years of managerial experience in campus placement and student career counseling.
  • Preference given to candidates with a strong network of companies in creative fields, including graphic/communication design, UX/UI design, advertising and marketing agencies, fashion and lifestyle companies, interior and architectural firms.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications, administrative, leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills with prioritization ability, and demonstrated ability to network, advocate, and interface with recruiters and institutional constituents.
