Technical Manager - EHV, HV Cable Design

This is a full-time role requiring extensive expertise in high-voltage cable development.

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to lead our team in the design and development of high-voltage cables.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of sourcing requests from internal customers to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Design and develop EHV and HV cables that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Support internal customers in optimizing their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities.
  • Review cable inquiries from customers and convert them into cable sourcing requests.
  • Perform technical clarifications with our Supply Chain Partners to resolve any technical issues.
  • Determine wire screen/metal sheath size using short circuit calculations performed in Excel.
  • Define/verify conductor sizes using ampacity calculations performed in CYMCAP.
  • Calculate drum length using an Excel tool.
  • Check and accept technical data sheets from our Supply Chain Partners.
  • Verify prequalification and type test coverage of the cables offered by our suppliers.
  • Ensure all documents made available for external customers align with the Supply Chain Partner marketing strategy.
  • Prepare Quality Control Plans and ITPs together with our Supply Chain Partners.
  • Prepare the technical part of contracts.
  • Review and accept Quality Records from suppliers.
  • Witness in-process, routine, and sample tests.
  • Prepare type tests.
  • Identify and drive improvements in our processes and systems.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Significant experience in high-voltage cable design and development.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
