Job Overview

The Financial Director will oversee the financial strategy for a major hospitality project.

This senior role will lead the development and implementation of property-wide strategies that deliver exceptional customer experiences and exceed expectations.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Financial Director provides strategic financial expertise to enable successful implementation of business initiatives while maximizing return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops revenue growth strategies through cost estimation, benefit analysis and new business opportunities.
  • Forecasts sales against expenses and creates comprehensive budget plans.
  • Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales.
  • Identifies underlying principles, reasons or facts by breaking down complex data into separate parts.
  • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new business strategies.
  • Creates annual operating budgets for properties.
  • Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify areas for cost savings and productivity improvements.
  • Establishes systems of appropriate controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensures a robust accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability.
  • Analyzes financial data and market trends to inform business decisions.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity.
  • Communicates strategic goals, focus and priorities to subordinates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leverages functional leadership and communication skills to influence executive teams and lead own teams.
  • Oversees internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance and integrity.
  • Provides effective leadership by assigning clear accountability and authority to team members and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must hold a Master's degree in Accounting or Finance with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
