Job Title: Conversational AI Expert

We are seeking a skilled Conversational AI Expert to join our team and take ownership of the design, development, and optimization of speech recognition, text-to-speech, and wake-word detection pipelines for a next-generation consumer AI product.

The role focuses on delivering natural, low-latency voice interactions that work reliably on constrained hardware and scale seamlessly with cloud infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving innovation in conversational AI and ensuring the seamless integration of our AI-powered solutions into various applications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and optimizing speech-to-text systems (e.g., Whisper, Vosk), implementing and enhancing text-to-speech systems (Coqui, Piper, VITS), as well as prototype and refine wake-word detection. Additionally, they will apply model optimization techniques (quantization, ONNX, CTranslate2, GGUF/ggml) for offline/CPU-first inference and collaborate with backend engineers to expose APIs (/stt, /tts, /wakeword) for integration into apps.

  • Develop and optimize speech-to-text systems (e.g., Whisper, Vosk) for low-latency recognition.
  • Implement and enhance text-to-speech systems (Coqui, Piper, VITS), including multi-voice support and style variations.
  • Prototype and refine wake-word detection and integrate noise suppression, VAD, AGC, and audio normalization for robust performance.
