About the Role:

  • We seek a highly motivated and experienced process engineer to support process development, simulation, documentation, and commissioning efforts.
  • This is a high-impact opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow within a globally distributed pharma project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and optimize flow chemistry and batch processes for scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
  2. Perform process design calculations (heat & mass balance, reaction kinetics, equipment sizing, pressure drop, mixing, and scale-up parameters).
  3. Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as: Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  4. Support process safety assessments (HAZOP, risk analysis, safety studies).
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process chemists, mechanical, instrumentation, and analytical teams) to ensure robust process design.
  6. Evaluate new technologies and propose innovative solutions for continuous manufacturing & flow chemistry applications.
  7. Provide process engineering support during pilot plant and commercial scale-up.
  8. Work with procurement & vendors for equipment selection and specification preparation.
  9. Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory guidelines, and EHS standards in process design.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of proven experience in process design engineering within the pharmaceutical/chemical industry.
  • Hands-on expertise in flow chemistry and batch process design.
  • Strong knowledge of process design tools and calculations (heat/mass transfer, reaction engineering, hydraulics).
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in simulation software preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of process safety desirable.
