Cloud Security Specialist Job Description

This role focuses on securing cloud environments using AWS native security services and controls.

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Cloud Security Specialist is to ensure the secure operation of cloud-based systems and applications. This includes designing and enforcing service control policies (SCPs), implementing security controls, and monitoring compliance with organizational security standards.

  • Develop and implement robust security measures to protect cloud environments.
  • Design and enforce SCPs for secure multi-account environments.
  • Implement and manage AWS native security services and controls.
  • Ensure secure cloud operations and monitor compliance with organizational security standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Secure cloud environment using best practices and security frameworks.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud system logs to identify potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security risks and incidents.
  • Develop and implement data security controls and access control into cloud environment.
Requirements:
  • Strong expertise in AWS native security services and SCPs.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud functionality and operations within AWS.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience with container security tools and vulnerability scanning.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer).
  • Expertise in integrating security best practices into DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Terraform and Sentinel for policy enforcement.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
