Job Title: Data Engineer - Contract

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Postgres SQL, leveraging advanced query writing, CTEs, window functions, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data models, focusing on star schema, facts, and dimensions.
  • Analyze and handle semi-structured data, including JSON and JSONB in Postgres, ensuring seamless integration with ETL/ELT tools like Airbyte.
  • Prepare high-quality data for business intelligence dashboards, utilizing Tableau or similar tools, and ensure data validation, QA checks, and troubleshooting processes are in place.
  • Foster strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with stakeholders and ensure timely project delivery.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Postgres SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and ability to work with semi-structured data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms and containerization technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in data engineering.
