Oracle Database Engineer

The position involves performing daily health checks on Oracle environments and Exadata components, monitoring GoldenGate processes, and reviewing alerts and backups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations & Monitoring: Execute daily health checks on Oracle (12c/19c+) environments, monitor GoldenGate processes, check replication lag, and perform basic restarts as per SOPs.
  • Backups, Patching & Changes: Execute RMAN backup/restore activities, apply standard database patches and updates during maintenance windows, and perform routine changes under change control.
  • Incident Response & Escalation: Triage alarms, gather diagnostics, restore services where possible, and escalate incidents to L2/L3 with clear context and timelines.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security policies, maintain accurate CMDB and inventory records, and update runbooks and knowledge articles.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Update runbooks, collaborate with application, infrastructure, and network teams, and provide concise customer-facing updates when required.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • ~1 year of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with user/admin tasks, schema management, and privilege handling.
  • Basic understanding of Exadata and Linux administration.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control, and SQL*Plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and adhere to incident/change management processes.
