IT Support MES Role Summary

The IT support MES role is a critical position that bridges the gap between IT and manufacturing. This role requires an understanding of both software systems and production processes to maintain efficiency, quality, and compliance in the manufacturing environment.

This includes troubleshooting and resolving issues with the MES software and hardware to ensure uninterrupted production operations. System maintenance and optimization are also key responsibilities, involving monitoring system performance, implementing updates, and making necessary adjustments to optimize the MES for efficiency and quality.

Implementation and configuration of new MES systems, as well as integration with other enterprise systems like ERP, are also essential duties. Data management and analysis play a significant role in this position, requiring the collection and analysis of real-time data from the shop floor to identify bottlenecks, track production, and improve decision-making.

User support and training are also crucial aspects of this role, including providing technical assistance to production staff and developing training materials to help them use the MES effectively. Documentation is another important responsibility, involving the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and user guides, for the MES.

Quality assurance is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring the MES supports quality management by tracking deviations and exceptions, contributing to improved quality control.
