Commercial Real Estate Asset Management Role Overview

The position of Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager entails overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a real estate portfolio, encompassing office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, and other commercial assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor property maintenance activities, capital expenditures, and improvement projects to enhance property value and tenant experience.
  • Manage third-party vendor payments and on-time mortgage payments.
  • Maintain and manage insurance coverage and manage insurance claims.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Enter lease agreement information & rent schedules in Yardi.
  • Communicate with management and tenants regarding billing and lease language.
  • Enter deposits and apply payments to tenant accounts, as needed.
  • Assist with tenant aged receivables audits and collection efforts.
  • Calculate tenant Overage % Rents and % in Lieu Rents and post charges to tenant accounts in Yardi.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent follow-up skills – Billing related.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact and engage tenants.
  • Advanced knowledge of general and cost accounting and financial statements.
  • Creative and problem-solving mindset to resolve Tenant billing issues.
  • Excellent communication and financial accounting skills.
  • Professional and emotional maturity, honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in property management in Yardi is required.
  • Advanced experience reading and interpreting leases and related documents as well as financial information contained in accounting software, spreadsheets, financial statements, etc., required.
  • Expert-level proficiency working with Yardi and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) required.
