Job Overview

The Senior Manager IP role is pivotal in driving the company's intellectual property (IP) strategy forward. This position will work closely with the Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to identify products for introduction into the development grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing the growing IP portfolio of the company.
  • Enforcing IP processes to ensure timely protection of intellectual property.
  • Providing guidance on patentability of inventions under review.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Drafting patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, and filing and prosecuting inventive solutions to build a wealth of intellectual property.
  • Monitoring and evaluating third-party scientific and patent publications.
  • Providing IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partnering with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD or post-graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Desirable additional specialization in Intellectual Property.
  • At least 13+ years of work experience in a reputable global pharmaceutical company with team handling skills.
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization.
