Message Queue Professional

As a successful message queue engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and maintenance of critical distributed message queue infrastructure.

  • Lead complex initiatives and issues within the message queue functional technical area as well as cross-functional areas.
  • Work closely with application development organizations and other functional IT areas to determine best practices, tuning, problem resolution, and root cause analysis in the message queue and middleware space.
  • Deploy, upgrade, and manage infrastructures for the message queue environment.
  • Provide technical consulting on the use and integration of message queue and middleware system utilities, tools, and applications.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years administering and architecting IBM MQ environments, including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, performance tuning.
  • Strong message queue troubleshooting skills are a must with the ability to drive to root cause.
  • Experience with IBM MQ appliances.
  • Understanding network topologies, common network protocols, and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) and experience with configuring network interfaces.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in messaging technologies and a proven track record of delivering large-scale message queue solutions. Experience with cloud-based message queue platforms is also desirable.
