Cloud Architect Position

  • This is an advanced role for SAP Cloud Architects that has evolved from the SAP Basis consultant career path. As a Cloud Architect, your primary responsibility is to plan and design customer SAP landscapes and provide guidance on the use of SAP RISE Platform.
  • The selected candidate will perform similar responsibilities to guide customers about their landscape on the SAP RISE Platform, including the planning and design of the customer's SAP landscape.
  • SAP RISE Platform offers the latest SAP technologies, allowing customers to select their preferred hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP). The CAA team member works closely with the SAP sales/account executives team to understand customer requirements and create a to-be landscape architecture/design based on SAP product/infrastructure selection.
  • As a member of the CAA team, you will have responsibility for discussing landscape architecture (setup & build process, dependencies, etc.) with customer leaders and their technical teams. This role involves customer-facing interactions and requires joining meetings, answering technical queries, and presenting assessments.
  • Since this is an architect role, there will be no hands-on work involved.

  • You will not be dedicated to one single customer but will engage with multiple customers across various industries, gaining knowledge about different SAP Landscape setups, delivery processes, and challenges.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Skills Required

As a Technical Architect, the following roles and responsibilities are involved:

  • Bill Of Material Review & Analysis: Review technical accuracy to validate that no obsolete version product (ECC, etc.) is selected to build on SAP RISE platform.
  • Provide feedback to the Sales Team on Bill Of Material to confirm if selected product and version are available to build.
  • Do technical validation of customer landscape to validate product version build viability.
  • Analyze Early Watch Reports & Technical Data to validate hardware selection/sizing.
  • Work closely with Sales Team on architecture, landscape, and to-be.
  • Sizing the to-be Landscape for Migrations.
Customer Deal Support
  • Prepare Technical Assessments to discuss with Customer and explain about their to-be landscape.
  • Conduct Technical Assessments with customers.
  • Perform workshops with customers (networking, HA concepts, RACI reviews).
  • Onboarding Questionnaire Support (assist customer with questions on onboarding).
  • Answer questions of customer relating to delivery.
  • Provide delivery with key information during sales cycle.
  • Provide turnover to delivery of key items during sales cycle.
  • Answer questions of delivery specific to the delivery.
Requirements

6+ years of experience in REX (SAP Basis, SAP HANA, and S/4 HANA skills) with migration/upgrades and experience on Any Cloud (AWS, MS Azure, GCP). Good communication skills, who can articulate, and experience in customer-facing roles.
