Senior Structural Engineer

As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and execution of structural components for port infrastructure projects. Your expertise in project management consultancy (PMC) will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the development and modernization of Trivandrum Port. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and other engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of structural designs into the overall project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Structural Engineering for Port Projects: Take charge of the design, analysis, and execution of key structural components for port infrastructure, including breakwaters, jetties, quays, docks, and seawalls.
- Project Management Consultancy (PMC): Provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of port infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budget constraints, and project timelines.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and other engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of structural designs into the overall project.
- Risk & Safety Management: Oversee the risk mitigation strategies and safety measures, ensuring that all structural designs and construction work comply with regulatory guidelines and safety standards.
- Site Supervision & Quality Assurance: Supervise construction activities on-site, providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality standards for structural integrity and sustainability.
- Design Optimization: Implement advanced structural engineering principles to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, resilience, and environmental sustainability.
- Project Documentation & Reporting: Prepare progress reports, design reviews, and technical documentation for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on marine and port infrastructure, with significant PMC experience.
- Post Graduate degree in Structural Engineering, specializing in marine structures or coastal engineering.
- Proven experience in project management of large-scale port projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and other tools for design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of marine structures, including their response to wave forces, tide variations, sediment movement, and marine environmental conditions.
- Ability to lead and manage teams, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Expertise in contract management, procurement, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication skills to present design concepts and project progress to stakeholders and clients.
