Research Scientist Job Description
As a Research Scientist, you will play a critical role in delivering valuable evidence that addresses health outcomes issues and maximizes product value in our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic insights into health outcomes (HO) evidence needs for our products and provide leadership in evidence strategy development and planning.
- Integrate knowledge of HO disciplines, therapeutic areas, drug development, and local market knowledge to deliver valuable evidence.
- Take ownership and execute research projects, developing and articulating product value propositions, patient-reported outcomes strategies, real-world evidence generation, and differentiation strategies using HO research.
- Lead local HEOR/RWE strategy development for compounds in our portfolio in Japan, aligned with local product strategy and global/regional HEOR/RWE strategy.
- Drive sustained integration of HEOR/RWE from early clinical development through commercialization, depending on project focus or therapeutic area.
- Formulate and drive Patient Focused Outcome, Real World Evidence, and/or economic value strategies for priority products.
- Provide strategic direction to address complex health outcomes challenges.
- Lead local HEOR/RWE evidence planning and execution for individual compounds/products across the development and commercialization lifecycle.
- Develop and design HEOR/RWE studies that can address important gaps for the products, are scientifically robust and feasible, and meet relevant quality standards.
- Apply technical expertise appropriate for the role within a therapeutic area.
- Ensure sustainable delivery of planned evidence in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate scientific leadership in evidence strategy, planning, study development, and execution.
- Effectively integrate with and influence key business partners and external stakeholders to achieve goals and outcomes.
- Promote strategic integration into global for both projects and functional activities.
- Communicate HO information effectively to internal business partners, the scientific community, and customers.
- Drives research dissemination strategies and leads research communication efforts.
Requirements:
- An advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, such as economics, epidemiology, health administration, or statistics, is generally required.
- Strong comprehension and communication skills, including the ability to translate and disseminate complex scientific information.
- Business English and Japanese language skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate within and across teams.
- Ability to think and act globally with a customer focus and solution orientation.
