Inventory Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist to manage and maintain accurate records of raw materials, components, finished goods, and consumables in our stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor stock levels, raise alerts for reordering, and prevent stockouts or overstocking to ensure business continuity.
  • Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with system records to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and systematic storage of materials for easy traceability.
  • Issue materials to production, maintenance, and other departments based on approved requisitions.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure availability of required materials for uninterrupted operations.

Vendor & Procurement Coordination:

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders (quantity, quality, and specifications).
  • Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and report discrepancies to procurement/quality teams.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain and update inventory records as per company standards.
  • Generate and share regular reports on stock movement, consumption patterns, material shortages, and wastages.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials in line with safety and quality standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and audit requirements related to inventory and stores management.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
