Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to lead our database management and migration efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, performance, and availability of our databases on cloud and on-prem platforms.

This is a key role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Design, develop, install, tune, deploy, secure, migrate, and upgrade DBMS installations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, identify, and resolve database issues.
  • Migration and Upgrade: Migrate databases across cloud and on-prem platforms with minimal or no downtime.
  • Collaboration and Support: Provide guidance and support to developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Working knowledge in database programming languages (MSSQL/PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Knowledge of Database Concepts: Understanding of database concepts – ACID properties, normal forms, DDL/DML, transaction logging, log shipping, Mirroring, High-Availability etc.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience in developing migration plans to migrate on-premises databases to Cloud (AWS/Azure).
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related information technology field with 6 to 8 years of experience in database administration or development.
