We are seeking a seasoned Database Administration Expert to lead our database operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex database systems, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performing PostgreSQL databases.
  • Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and data retrieval.
  • Analyze and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and data loss.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL DBA roles, preferably in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning techniques.
  • Experience with HA and replication solutions, including Patroni and repmgr.
  • Strong expertise in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS PostgreSQL services, including RDS and Aurora.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools, such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Knowledge of logical replication and foreign data wrappers.
  • Cloud-managed PostgreSQL services experience.
  • Connection pooling and proxy tools proficiency.
