Technical Expert - Software Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Expert to join our team as a Software Developer. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and maintaining software applications on AS/400 platforms.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software solutions that meet the requirements of our clients.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of software development principles, experience with multiple programming languages and systems, and excellent problem-solving skills.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team, providing direction and mentorship to others as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain software applications on AS/400 platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software solutions.
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback to junior developers.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to resolve problems and coordinate the delivery of IT products and services.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in developing and maintaining software applications on AS/400 platforms.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages and systems.
  • Experience with RPGLE Programming, ILE Advanced concepts, and SQL concepts and programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with IBM RDI Tools (Rational Developer for System i).
  • Experience in any change management tool.
  • Experience with Help Systems SEQUEL.
  • Knowledge of AGILE development standards / services and networking techniques.
