Job Title: Earth Observation Systems Developer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing an earth observation system that ingests, processes, and visualizes satellite data. This role involves building a scalable architecture on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store and retrieve large datasets.

Responsibilities:

  • Built automated pipelines to ingest raw satellite data from various sources
  • Developed frameworks for machine learning model training and integration using Python libraries like XGBoost
  • Designed a low-latency REST API to serve real-time predictions from AI models using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
  • Implemented core features of the interactive dashboard using React and Mapbox GL JS to visualize complex geospatial data

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience
  • Deep expertise in either Python-based backend development or React-based frontend development
  • Essential experience designing, building, and deploying services on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • A thorough understanding of REST principles and proven experience in designing and building APIs from scratch
  • Proficiency in containerising applications using Docker
