Job Title:Specialized Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Special Educator to provide one-on-one support to a child in their home environment. The focus of this role will be on developing functional academics, communication skills, and supporting daily living activities.

This is a freelance contract-based opportunity with flexible scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver personalized special education sessions tailored to the child's needs and goals
  • Focus on building functional communication, basic literacy, and language through structured activities
  • Support the child's independence in daily living activities (e.g., dressing, eating, basic routines)
  • Conduct regular assessments to set measurable goals and track progress
  • Develop engaging learning tools and methods that cater to the child's interests and abilities
  • Maintain accurate session records and communicate regularly with parents and the support team
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic support for the child's development
Requirements:
  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of effective communication strategies and life skills training
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home-based setting
  • Emotional maturity, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach when working with children and families
