PCB CAD Engineer Role Summary

This position involves designing and maintaining electronic circuit boards. A strong understanding of software development and design principles is required, although hardware expertise is not essential.

  • Develop and maintain PCB CAD libraries including schematic symbols, footprints, and parametric data.
  • Generate footprints for Surface Mount Devices (SMD), Through-Hole Technology (THT) components, connectors, and complex Integrated Circuit (IC) packages according to IPC-7351 standards.
  • Validate Bills of Materials (BOMs), electrical attributes, package information, and component descriptions.
  • Cross-check datasheets, schematics, and footprints to ensure accuracy in pin sequencing and package details.
  • Maintain documentation, adhere to standard naming conventions, and ensure smooth integration with Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD)/Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) tools.
