The Configuration Management practice is a critical component of our Service Management operations, ensuring that all IT assets and configurations are accurately documented and maintained in line with organizational policies and objectives.
This role involves managing, maintaining, and developing our Service Now Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to support the entire service and its customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing Configuration Items (CIs) in the CMDB, ensuring accuracy of CI class, hierarchy, and relationship management
- Defining configuration management processes and procedures in line with organizational policies and objectives
- Maintaining CI records in the CMDB through a structured change management process
- Auditing the CMDB regularly to ensure accuracy and resolving discrepancies in configuration data
To succeed in this role, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
You should have a proven track record of performing configuration management using Service Now and a strong understanding of the ITIL framework. Leadership and team management skills are also essential, as well as flexibility to work outside regular business hours if necessary.
