Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Financial Risk Oversight Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of trading activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank's trading book.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation of daily profit and loss (PL) figures for trading desks to ensure they align with the valued positions in the trading book.
  • Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of trading risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.
  • Maintenance and analysis of the bank's trading data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and consistency, and provision of insights to traders and senior colleagues on trading performance.
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory reports to authorities, and provision of support to external audits including addressing auditor queries and ensuring trading activities are appropriately reflected in financial statements.
Requirements
  • A thorough understanding of financial markets and instruments, including derivatives and other complex products.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential control breakdowns.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with traders, risk professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office toolkit, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualification as a chartered accountant or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a similar role within a banking or financial services organization.
