The role of Deputy General Manager Human Resources is pivotal in spearheading the HR function at a manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Partner: As Site HR Head, develop and implement employee relations and human resource programs to support business objectives.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Identify manpower requirements, plan budget, and hire talented workforce within tight timelines to ensure business continuity. Ensure best-in-class onboarding experience for new joiners.
  • HR Manpower Planning and Budgeting: Assist in budgeting process of all HR items and headcount requirement. Review and monitor actual spend vis-à-vis approved budgets, ensuring optimum utilization of manpower budgets and trend analysis.
  • Performance Management: Drive continual performance management and Annual Compensation Review for the site. Train line managers on goal setting and sharing performance feedback.
  • Talent Management: Implement periodic talent management reviews and ensure development/retention plans are executed. Create and implement succession plans for critical roles.
  • Learning and Development: Promote a culture of learning and high performance. Identify training needs, prepare training calendar, and evaluate training efficacy.
  • HR Compliance and Statutory Obligations: Ensure HR legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable statutory laws, maintaining records, and representing the organization at various associations.
  • Labour Management: Maintain harmonious and productive industrial relations, track productivity, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure statutory compliances are followed by manpower vendors.
  • Employee Engagement and Wellbeing: Implement initiatives to impact key drivers of employee engagement and lead wellbeing initiatives at the site.
  • HR Operations: Supervise and review all HR operations pertaining to employee life cycle, aiming to streamline and bring efficiency.
  • Special Projects: Support conceptualizing and execution of special HR-related projects to meet specific business needs.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years' experience handling HR functions, preferably in manufacturing setups.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent management skills, and ability to influence management.
  • Excellent analytical ability and ability to interface with all levels of management.
