Highly skilled Automation Engineer sought to deliver project management consultant (PMC) services and engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) expertise for the offsites and utilities (OSBL) of a multi-billion-dollar upgrade and expansion of an existing petrochemical facility in India.

Job Details

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining the suite of construction automation applications to assist project site execution. This includes configuring business system application packages (BSAPs) to meet project requirements, coordinating with energy construction automation function design engineering, procurement, and other departments, and ensuring accurate data transfer between applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish data requirements to aid construction work processes
  • Coordinate with Energy Construction Automation Function, Design Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, and other departments to implement, enhance, and coordinate automated data transfer between applications
  • Configure BSAPs to meet project requirements based on coordination with Energy GBU Automation function
  • Understand reporting requirements for each application and configure reports accordingly
  • Ensure reports are accurate reflections of the data and functioning as intended
  • Review trouble-shoot data for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and address anomalies and report to the Area Field Engineer
  • Provide ongoing administration to each BSAP
  • Provide training and technical aid to BSAP end users, including field engineering, supervision, administration, project controls, and other site personnel

Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline
  • Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basics of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
  • Basic knowledge of TEAMWorks or equivalent software tracking for construction is required
  • Experience with other Bechtel Standard applications, including PTR, SETROUTE, BPS is desirable
  • Ability to track down complex data and engineering issues, evaluate different algorithmic approaches, and analyze data to solve problems
  • Advanced level capability with MS Excel and Access is required
  • Extensive knowledge with other database platforms
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
