Procurement Leader

The Head of Department is responsible for leading the procurement function, ensuring strategic sourcing and contract management that meet business needs.

About the Role:

This leadership position plays a pivotal role in managing key vendor relationships, driving procurement planning aligned with project timelines and organizational goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Procurement Oversight:
    • Develop and implement end-to-end procurement strategies to optimize procurement spend, improve supplier performance, and ensure compliance.
    • Drive procurement planning and coordination across departments to meet project milestones and organizational objectives.
    • Maintain senior-level relationships with key vendors and stakeholders.
  • Vendor Development & Management:
    • Identify, onboard, and evaluate reliable vendors for solar components and services.
    • Negotiate long-term contracts and strategic alliances with suppliers, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Regularly review vendor performance, quality, and compliance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Cost Optimization & Commercial Evaluation:
    • Develop cost-control strategies to minimize procurement spend while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
    • Analyze supplier quotations and conduct thorough commercial evaluations to ensure best value for money.
    • Benchmark pricing and procurement terms against industry standards to drive competitiveness.
  • Process Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies, statutory guidelines, and project specifications.
    • Implement transparent documentation and reporting mechanisms for audits and internal controls.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution.
    • Monitor material requirement plans and proactively address supply risks or delays to maintain project momentum.
    • Resolve escalated supplier disputes or operational bottlenecks through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to build capability, performance, and career growth opportunities.
    • Establish clear KPIs, monitor progress, and drive process improvements across the department.
