Lead Designer - Solar Power

We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design of solar power plants, ensuring that all engineering activities are executed to the highest standard.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in civil and structural engineering, including control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, and drainage. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks are completed efficiently.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of engineering drawings and documents
  • Ensure deliveries are aligned to project schedules
  • Review drawings by design engineers and draughts persons, checking design and sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from clients
  • Review vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering
  • CAPABLE OF MULTITASKING AND DELIVER MULTIPLE THINGS ON TIME
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements
  • Review bill of quantities (BOQ) and submit to contracts team, providing technical clarifications as needed
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks
  • Provide support and clarifications to site execution teams
  • Check pre-award evaluation of vendors (w.r.t. technical specifications requirement of clients) and forward validation document to supply chain management
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after submission of validation document of vendors
  • Clarify issues w.r.t. design and requirements of clients to site execution teams
  • Collect inputs for project details (soil report, boundary coordinates, topo survey etc.) from clients and section heads
  • Coordinating with operations teams and informing design specifications for obtaining approval
  • Collect inputs for project details (general arrangement drawings) from vendors
  • Provide support to electrical DC, AC & instrumentation for reviewing vendor drawings
  • Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking and reviewing of design and drawings of projects
  • Design deliverables like module mounting structure design, GA drawing, control room, inverter room civil & structural drawings & document, solar plant civil infrastructure drawings and design.
Technical Expertise:

The lead designer shall have technical expertise in engineering activities for civil & structural covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous works related to the solar power plant.
