Job Title: Solar Design Professional

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled solar design professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SketchUp and a proven track record of creating accurate 2D and 3D solar rooftop designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed and accurate 2D and 3D rooftop solar designs using SketchUp.
  • Create precise models of solar panels, mounting structures, rooftop elements, and obstacles with consideration for optimal space utilization and feasibility.
  • Utilize the mounting structure library to design panel layouts that meet technical and structural requirements.
  • Identify and incorporate rooftop obstacles into the design, ensuring seamless integration and effective use of available space.
  • Make informed design decisions regarding:
  • Panel placement for maximum rooftop space utilization while maintaining shading and clearance guidelines.
  • Creation of multiple views and scenes in SketchUp to effectively communicate design intent.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in SketchUp solar design, preferably with rooftop PV projects.
  • A deep understanding of rooftop solar project requirements, including shading considerations and structural layouts.
  • The ability to interpret technical inputs (site surveys, roof dimensions, structural drawings) into workable models.
  • Familiarity with solar mounting structures and the ability to apply them within designs.
  • Excellent visualization skills to create professional design presentations.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Sketchup and Skalion.
  • Knowledge of solar engineering basics, including tilt, azimuth, orientation, shading, and generation estimates.
