Head of Inventory & Warehousing

Location: Kochi, Kerala

About the Role : The Head of Inventory & Warehousing is responsible for overseeing all inventory management, warehousing, and storage operations within Alutec. This role involves developing strategies to optimize inventory levels, managing the storage and movement of materials, and ensuring the efficient operation of warehousing facilities across various locations. The Head will also lead initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, safety, and compliance while managing a team of warehousing professionals.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient inventory management, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring optimal space utilization, material handling, and safety compliance.
  • Monitor inventory levels, coordinating with procurement and planning teams to maintain stock accuracy and avoid shortages or excesses.
  • Lead initiatives to improve warehouse processes, including automation, material flow, and inventory tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies across all warehousing activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of warehouse managers, inventory controllers, and storekeepers.

Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in inventory management and warehousing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Required Skills :

  • Strong expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, logistics, and supply chain strategy.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with process improvements and warehouse automation initiatives.
