Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of raw materials essential for production processes.

This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining quality and timely delivery of raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement to Pay Management:
    • Review purchase requisitions and float RFQ as per plan received from planning team
    • Prepare comparative quote sheets, negotiate best prices, and issue PO to L1 as per approval of AVP & VP Procurement
    • Follow procurement SOP
    • Ensure timely delivery of material (OTIF), diligence in follow-ups with suppliers, ensure timely payments, vendor reconciliations etc.
  • Procurement Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency
    • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market
  • Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions
    • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly
  • Cost Management:
    • Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet required quality standards and specifications
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Inventory Management:
    • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies
    • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies
