Procurement Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience and be proficient in using tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for maintaining relations with suppliers, placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts, and receiving and handling confirmations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining relations with suppliers
  • Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts
  • Receiving and handling confirmations
  • Checking the purchase orders and modifying them according to the changes in the production plan
  • Tracking shipments and urging them if needed
  • Regular weekly check of the stocks and avoiding overstock
  • Minimizing the risk of obsolescence with the help of the weekly check of the obsolete report
  • Correspondence with the freight forwarders, warehouses, and organizing the transportation
  • Dealing with claims, settling debit and credit issues, and filing and recording all necessary documents
  • Checking the inventory of critical materials personally if needed
  • Getting in touch with the right warehouse personnel and having the discrepancy modified if there is any inventory discrepancies
  • Handling purchasing data privacy and assuring all active components according to production needs in time for the accord price in the request
  • Reviews requisitions and MRP output and confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Orders, reschedules, and cancels material based on requisitions and MRP output and maintains procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery, and inventories
  • Manages supplier to price, delivery, and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate
  • Approves invoices for payment and investigates inventory levels
  • Monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle and conducts quarterly supplier reviews

Requirements:

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience

Skills: Use of tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; English language knowledge; data entry; ten-key; spreadsheet; PC; ERP software

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field

Language: Fluency in English language required
