Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Database Administrator to administer multiple Oracle databases spread across locations in a distributed environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. User Support: Provide timely and effective support to users within the IT department, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system availability.
  2. Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues, implement patches, and ensure compliance with specified timelines.
  3. Product Testing: Test product patches released by vendors, track issues, and ensure timely closure.
  4. User Acceptance Testing: Support user acceptance testing for new features and functionalities added in HIS and related systems.
  5. Approval Records: Maintain approval records and perform other duties as assigned by the reporting manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Database Administration: Expertise in administering multiple Oracle databases, including cloning, patching, and upgrading.
  • Performance Tuning: Experience in optimizing database performance, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring database health.
  • Backup and Recovery: Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures, including Hot Backup, Cold Backup, and RMAN.
  • Security: Proficiency in security administration, including auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object level and column level grants, controlling user access to system resources, and basic UNIX shell commands and scripting.
