Cloud Database Administrator

As a Cloud Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring databases hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud-hosted databases is a key responsibility of this role.
  • Monitoring database performance and availability using cloud-native tools is essential.
  • Ensuring data security, backup, and recovery processes are implemented and adhered to is crucial.
  • Supporting migration of databases to the cloud from on-premises systems is also required.
  • Assisting in creating users, roles, and permission policies for database access is an important task.
  • Troubleshooting basic database issues with guidance from senior DBAs is necessary.
  • Documenting procedures, configurations, and operational best practices is essential.
  • Collaborating with the DevOps and development teams for database-related needs is a collaborative effort.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • A strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts is required.
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP) and their database offerings is essential.
  • Knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery fundamentals is critical.
  • Awareness of database security best practices is vital.
  • Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn are highly valued.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities are necessary.
Educational Qualification:

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

Cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner / Azure Fundamentals / Google Cloud Digital Leader) are highly advantageous.
