Job Title: Data Insights Specialist

Description

This role involves working with data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions. As a skilled Data Insights Specialist, you will design and implement data models using dbt, transform raw data into meaningful formats, and create interactive dashboards for analysis.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in dbt, and experience with dashboard-building tools are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling: Design, develop, and maintain data models using dbt to support analytical and reporting requirements.
  • Data Transformation: Transform raw data into meaningful and accessible formats for analysis.
  • Dashboards and Reporting: Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other relevant platforms.
  • Analytical Skills: Conduct in-depth analysis to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision making.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on data modeling, analytics goals, and dashboard design.
  • Testing and Validation: Perform thorough testing and validation of data models and dashboards to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, etc.).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a related role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in dbt (data build tool) and experience with dashboard-building tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Database Knowledge: Knowledge of SQL and database management.
  • Version Control: Proficiency in git version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Tools: Experience with other tools in the Modern Data Stack (e.g., Fivetran, Stitch).
  • Domain Knowledge: Domain knowledge in one of the following areas - product analytics, data governance, or security principles.
