Business Analyst Position Overview

The ideal candidate for this role will be part of a team responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end workflows that generate crucial datasets for reporting and analytics projects. This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements and contribute to the continuous evolution of reporting needs.

This Business Analyst II role is a key member of our Automation and Engineering Team, working closely with senior leadership to ensure seamless delivery and support of ongoing and future projects.

We are seeking an individual with strong data transformation/manipulation skills, preferably in an FP&A environment, who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to devise business rules and address data quality issues.

  • Develop workflows and macros in Alteryx to handle data transformations and apply business rules.
  • Build high-level and detailed validations using Alteryx to ensure data quality and user confidence.
  • Capture findings and present them to customers using MS-Excel and MS-PPT in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Participate in discussions with customers to brainstorm on data quality issues and contribute to devising business rules.
  • Write and debug SQL queries to extract datasets from Data Warehouse and other Relational databases.
  • Work with Essbase developers to align data feeds with application dimensionality.
  • Assist in testing data loaded into applications and flagging issues during sanity checks.
  • Partner with customers during UAT and work with the Development team to fix identified issues.
  • Liaise with internal groups to ensure compliance with MasterCard technical standards.
  • Strong metadata management, data transformation/manipulation, and reporting skills are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Alteryx workflows and Macros.
  • Good understanding of SQL Server or Oracle DB.
  • Advanced MS-Excel and PPT.
  • Ability to work on Windows and Linux servers.
  • Strong commitment to development, testing, and ensuring quality of data workflows.
  • Strong ability to step in and debug/analyze the workflow of others.
  • Agile environment experience is highly desirable.
