Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished mechanical design engineer with a strong background in designing electrical enclosures, busbar supports, frames, and switchgear/switchboard layouts.

  • Design Requirements:
    • Create detailed designs for electrical equipment enclosures, busbar supports, frames, and layouts using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
    • Develop 2D and 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, including UL 1558, UL 891, UL 508A, and UL 67.
  • Consider IP/NEMA ratings, CSA and IEC standards, thermal management, and safety requirements.

Integration and Collaboration:

  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure proper integration of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers to provide fully integrated solutions.

Technical Considerations:

  • Address thermal management, mechanical strength, structural stability, and vibration requirements.
  • Validate designs for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Independent Work:

  • Lead assigned design tasks independently without step-by-step supervision.
  • Drive design reviews, resolve technical issues, and provide engineering inputs across project phases.
  • Quickly adapt to new challenges and develop creative solutions.
