Battery energy systems play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). A Battery Energy System specialist is responsible for designing, developing, simulating, and validating battery energy management systems for EVs and HEVs.

The position involves system modeling, algorithm development, embedded implementation, and close collaboration with hardware, software, and thermal management teams to achieve performance, safety, and regulatory compliance targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mechanical design and packaging of battery enclosures, mounting brackets, connector interfaces, and cooling solutions within the battery pack.
  • Ensuring structural robustness, thermal performance, vibration resistance, and ease of assembly for battery hardware.
  • Collaborating with electrical, thermal, and battery pack teams to ensure seamless integration of battery energy management systems in the overall battery system architecture.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design of battery energy systems or electronic control units within automotive or EV battery systems.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5/Creo), GD&T, DVP, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis.
  • Good understanding of plastics, die-castings, sealing, EMI shielding, and thermal management techniques for electronic enclosures.
