Laboratory Assistant Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Laboratory Assistant Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the laboratory operations by assisting with various tasks such as sample handling, equipment operation, data recording, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the collection, preparation, labeling, and storage of laboratory samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and pipettes.
  • Accurately record experimental data, measurements, and observations in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
  • Assist with quality control procedures including calibration and maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow safety guidelines and laboratory protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with sample testing, experiments, or analysis as directed by senior laboratory staff.
  • Help maintain laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment inventory.
  • Participate in laboratory cleaning, waste disposal, and general maintenance.
  • Adhere to laboratory regulations, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Communicate findings, results, and issues to senior laboratory staff as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic laboratory equipment and procedure issues under supervision.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction from senior laboratory staff.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and record-keeping.
