About this role

A global engineering consulting organization seeks a skilled professional to design and implement plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting systems.

Key responsibilities include designing appropriate plumbing systems, performing calculations, and developing plumbing system layouts.

  • Designing domestic water, sanitary, storm water, hot water, and gas systems.
  • Performing calculations as directed by senior engineers.
  • Developing plumbing system layouts, including pipe sizing and equipment selection.
  • Knowledge of International Plumbing design codes.
  • Knowledge of Revit and ability to work in BIM environment.
HVAC Design/BIM Responsibilities:

Conduct heat load calculations using tools like HAP to determine heating and cooling requirements for buildings.

  • Designing HVAC systems, including water-cooled and air-cooled chiller plants, Variable Refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, Direct Expansion (DX) systems, etc.
  • Selecting equipment based on project specifications.
  • Calculating ventilation requirements, pressurization needs, smoke management systems, pump head calculations, external static pressure, and sizing ducts and pipes.
  • Coordinating HVAC designs with other disciplines.
Firefighting Systems Design/BIM Responsibilities:

Designing fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and hydrants, according to national and international codes.

  • Performing hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.
  • Designing and laying out fire detection and alarm systems.
Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required. The ideal candidate should have 8-15 years of experience in Plumbing/HVAC & Firefighting.
