Job Overview

The Vice Chancellor serves as the chief academic officer and leader of a medical university, overseeing various aspects of the institution.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive continuous improvement in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment based on learning outcomes and technological advancements.
  • Build a vibrant research culture by supporting faculty, students, and scholarly activities, including publishing and securing research funding.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, overseeing key bodies such as the Academic Council, Finance Committee, and Board of Management.
  • Represent the university at national and international platforms, establishing partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and research organizations.
  • Champion student welfare, mentoring career readiness, and holistic development, creating a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.
  • A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputable institution is required, holding a medical degree or PhD from a premier institution.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience as a professor or equivalent position held in the university system or reputable research or academic administrative organizations is required.
  • Proven expertise in steering an institution toward top rankings, accreditations, and experience developing and executing a strategic vision, persuasive communication, and advancing the institution's reputation.
