Job Overview

The role of a CAD Technician plays a vital part in the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services by creating accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models.

This position involves working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure coordinated, detailed, and compliant documentation that supports efficient project delivery.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaborate with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Ensure drawings meet project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
  • Support the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Assist project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential and proficiency in Revit MEP/BIM is preferred.
  • Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design is necessary.
  • Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality is essential.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities is required.
