Job Title: Senior Data Engineering SpecialistOverview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Scalable Data Pipelines: Utilize PySpark to create efficient and scalable data pipelines that meet the needs of our business.
  • Implement Complex Business Logic: Leverage Spark SQL, DataFrame, and RDD APIs to implement complex business logic and ensure data quality and performance.
  • Maintain and Improve Existing Infrastructure: Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance our data engineering ecosystem.
  • Cloud Data Platform Experience: Have experience working with cloud services such as AWS S3, AWS Glue/EMR, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and Redshift.
  • Expertise in Modern Data Engineering Ecosystem: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the field, including distributed data processing, storage systems, and workflow orchestration tools.
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of experience in data engineering
  2. Strong experience in PySpark and proficiency in using Spark SQL, DataFrame, and RDD APIs
  3. Proficient programming skills in Python (preferred) with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
  4. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining batch and streaming data pipelines
  5. Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and best practices for data transformation, data quality, and performance optimization
  6. Knowledge of modern data engineering ecosystem and familiarity with current data engineering landscape
  7. Cloud data platform experience preferably on AWS
  8. Ability to choose and apply the right Spark APIs (DataFrame, Dataset, RDD) for performance-efficient implementation of business logic at scale
