Project Manager Job Summary

This is a highly demanding and exciting role for a skilled Project Manager to lead industrial projects from design to handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimation & Project Planning:
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and project budgets to ensure timely completion of projects.
    • Review tender documents, client specifications, and drawings to guarantee accuracy and quality.
    • Assist in preparing comprehensive proposals and techno-commercial offers to win new projects.
    • Develop robust project schedules with milestones and timelines to track progress.
  • Site Visits & Client Coordination:
    • Conduct thorough site visits to understand scope, constraints, and site conditions.
    • Provide technical expertise during client meetings and negotiations to build trust and confidence.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design & Technical Coordination:
    • Coordinate closely with design and engineering teams for PEB drawings, anchor bolt layouts, and civil/structural designs.
    • Validate drawings for constructability and practical execution to minimize risks.
    • Ensure timely release of Good for Construction drawings to prevent delays.
  • Production Planning & Procurement:
    • Plan fabrication schedules in line with site requirements to optimize production.
    • Monitor production progress at factory and ensure quality control to meet standards.
    • Coordinate procurement of steel, plates, roofing, cladding, and accessories to ensure timely delivery.
    • Track material dispatches to site as per project schedule to avoid delays.
  • Site Execution & Monitoring:
    • Supervise foundation, erection, roofing, cladding, and finishing works to ensure quality and safety.
    • Manage subcontractors, labor, and equipment deployment to maintain efficiency.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and timeline requirements to prevent issues.
    • Resolve on-site issues promptly to minimize delays and costs.
  • Project Completion & Handover:
    • Monitor snag lists and ensure rectifications before handover to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Prepare final documentation including as-built drawings, quality reports, and completion certificates to demonstrate professionalism.
    • Conduct client walkthroughs and obtain approvals to confirm project completion.
    • Support accounts/finance team in payment milestone certifications to ensure smooth payments.
    Requirements:
    • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience:
    • 7-12 years of experience in project management, preferably in the PEB/Industrial/Infrastructure sector.
    • Skills Required:
    • Strong knowledge of estimation, design review, and production planning.
    • Expertise in site execution of civil and steel/PEB projects.
    • Leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil (Hindi is an added advantage).
    • Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera (preferred), AutoCAD, and MS Office.
    • Other:
    • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.
