Lead Design Engineer for API 6A Pressure Control Equipment

Design and develop high-quality pressure control equipment per API 6A standards (valves, wellhead components, tree assemblies, etc.) with expertise in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor, Vault or similar CAD tools.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.
  • Provide technical documentation, including material specifications, test procedures, and certification packages.
  • Assist in preparing sales proposals and presenting to customers.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth production and quality control.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Expertise in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.).
  • Proficiency in ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is a must.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, heat treatment, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
