Job Summary

This position provides direction to product groups and CPI Supply Chain Planning Analysts on Inventory Management processes to release CPI programs effectively to the Caterpillar dealer organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage various processes related to CPI projects released by worldwide product groups to address quality-related issues in the field.
  • Provide direction to product groups on Inventory Management processes to release CPI programs effectively.
  • Work with process partners to resolve issues related to engineering releases, supplier capacity, receiving, records accuracy, and expediting material from suppliers.
  • Ensure minimum stock levels are in place that meet corporate CPI release criteria.
  • Responsible for achieving corporate CPI parts readiness and inventory management objectives relative to service performance and inventory turns through analyzing Parts Inventory Management Reports and discussions with internal customers, plants, and profit centers.
  • Investigate inventory management problems encountered, determine causes, identify possible solutions, discuss with management, and implement approved solutions.
  • Provide support to the work group with the placement of procurement order schedules, translating expected demand into schedules, understanding facility stocking and distribution concepts.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of parts distribution systems changes and enhancements, including the mechanized authorization system, Morton releasing system, source of supply mechanical routines, etc., along with the ability to answer questions relating to these systems.
  • Lead process improvement projects and undertake individual responsibility of managing CPI sub-processes.
  • Develop automated processes to aid in data cleansing and maintenance using analytical tools.
  • Develop and test new reporting tools, following standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maths, Science, or Commerce.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in Inventory Management/Supply Chain Management.
